The Brief

The Department of Health and Human Services and VACCA (Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency) tasked Bright Labs to create a hub to support the Aboriginal cultural planning program. The portal needed to appeal to Aboriginal youth, while educating, maintaining and strengthening their culture.

The Solution

Consulting with Aboriginal elders, youth, and program stakeholders across Victoria, we created the identity and website for 'Deadly Story' ('Good/Excellent Story') and implemented a youth-focused design that is culturally appropriate and accessible. Interactive features of the hub include:

  • Aboriginal Country map
  • Services directory
  • Events calendar
  • Resource portal
  • Tools and templates
  • And much more

The Outcome

An engaging hub of cultural information that tells terrific stories about Aboriginal Country and Community. The portal has grown in popularity since its launch, and the hub has resonated with the youth and their carers.
