The Photo Gallery is an additional module offered by Brightlabs that integrates into the iCMS system. It is easy to use and allows for a more professional and attractive way of displaying images on your website.

The Photo Gallery is an additional module offered by Brightlabs that integrates into the iCMS system. It is easy to use and allows for a more professional and attractive way of displaying images on your website. It takes the hassle out of creating thumbnails for large images, then having to link them to allow users to see full images.

How does the Photo Gallery work?

There are a few simple steps to follow when creating a gallery for the first time. 

  1. First, you have to create a new page for the gallery to appear on. To do this, you have to first add a Category to your website. Choose the appropriate location for this, give the page the necessary title, and if you want any text to appear on the page (above the gallery thumbnails), simply type this into the Page Content area.

  2.  After you've done this, you need to add a Gallery to this page. Find the page you've just created in iCMS, righ-click on it and choose Add Gallery. You will then be taken to the Gallery Content page. Give the gallery a title, then click Publish Now.

  3. To add the first image to your gallery, click Add Image. Give the image a title and caption (if needed), then click Browse to locate the image on your computer. Finally, click the Save button to add a new image to the gallery.

  4. To finish the gallery, make sure the page status is set to enabled, then click Publish Now. The page you created originally will now have the new photo gallery on it.

Why use the Photo Gallery module?

The Photo Gallery module eliminates many of the hassles of adding images to a website. To get a similar result to a gallery, you would have to resize each image manually, upload the thumbnail version and the large version of each image, then create links to the bigger image. To have multiple images on a page in an ordered view, you would also have to place them into a table. This can be a tedious task, and the end result is often far from perfect. The Photo Gallery displays images in an attractive way, and it makes it easy for the user to navigate through photos with the click of a button. You also get the added benefit of having titles and descriptions for each image as well.
